The World’s Top 11 Most Valuable Sports Franchises (2010)

This is the list of the World’s Top 11 Most Valuable Sports Franchises as ranked by www.Forbes.com . You can see their entire list of the top 50 here. The rest of the Top 25 is filled with more NFL teams other than Ferrari motorsports (#16) and Barcelona soccer (#25).

The only team in the Top 11 that surprises me is the Houston Texans. They have been around for such a shorter time than most of the other teams. A lot of it has to do with the huge price tag for the naming rights of their stadium which were sold to Reliant. It is obviously good to be an NFL team, and even better to be from New York if you want to be on this list.

The next baseball team on the list was the Boston Red Sox at #35, followed by the New York Mets at #38. The only NBA teams to make the list was the Los Angeles Lakers at #49, and the New York Knicks at #50.
